
Curaçao Establishes October 15 as National Day for Local Manufacturers
MEO’s Commitment to Supporting Local Production
On October 15, the Government of Curaçao, through the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), officially proclaimed October 15 as the National Day for Local Manufacturers. The proclamation was signed by the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Mr. Gilmar Pisas, and the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Roderick Middelhof, MD, in the presence of representatives of the Curaçao Manufacturers Association (CMA), and the MEO. This annual celebration recognizes the vital role of local producers in strengthening Curaçao’s economy, fostering innovation, and creating employment opportunities.
Speaking on the significance of this initiative, the Minister of Economic Development emphasized that local manufacturers serve as a cornerstone of Curaçao’s economic resilience and cultural pride. He noted that this special day is a tribute to their hard work, creativity, and ongoing commitment to the country’s sustainable future.

crease public awareness of the importance of supporting local enterprises. The initiative will also highlight the quality, value, and diversity of products made in Curaçao, while fostering collaboration among producers, stakeholders, and the wider community.
