Curaçao takes the lead in the Quantum Era!

The Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) proudly launches a new initiative to prepare Curaçao for the Quantum Era — raising awareness about the opportunities and challenges that quantum computing brings to our digital future.

By supporting the Curaçao Quantum Safe Foundation, MEO continues the legacy of the original Lat-IX initiative, which laid the groundwork for BlueNap Americas, and now aims to build a Quantum Safe Curaçao.

The idea for this groundbreaking step was born during the TNW Conference in Amsterdam, when Anil Sadhoeram, Adric Walter (Curaçao TechMeetups), and Gwido Jansen (MEO) invited Dimitri van Esch from the Quantum Gateway Foundation (Netherlands) to Curaçao. His visit marks the beginning of a national awareness effort aligned with the National Export Strategy (NES) — a vision to make ICT the fourth pillar of Curaçao’s economy.

Through this initiative, MEO continues to drive the NES mission forward: “Curaçao — where business succeeds.”
